Must tickets be purchased in advance?
Yes, tickets must be purchased in advance. Tours quickly sell out ahead of time, so please plan accordingly.
Do we just DRIVE AROUND AND SAMPLE LIQUOR?
Charleston Distillery Tours give you an opportunity to meet 2 micro-distillers, learn more about their products and what makes each distillery unique. Samples are provided at each distillery. Additionally, water and snacks are provided on the bus between stops. Your guide will be happy to answer questions about Charleston between stops.
Are there any beverages served on the tour?
Each distillery will have samples available for tour guests. Additionally, water will be available on the bus.
Does the tour guide accept gratuities?
Yes. Guide gratuities are greatly appreciated, although not required.
CAN NON-DRINKERS AND UNDERAGE GUESTS GO ON THE TOUR?
Yes, nondrinker and underage tickets are available for $25/person.
Are restrooms available during the tour?
Yes. Bathrooms are available at each of the distilleries.
IS THE VAN AIR CONDITIONED?
Of course! Charleston's summer heat is brutal.
What happens if it rains?
These are bus tours, so they are held rain or shine (although we reserve the right to cancel the tour in the event of a hurricane, or other really extreme weather event).
Are cameras allowed on the tour?
Yes, cameras are welcome and we encourage guests to post photos to social media!
Where does the tour finish?
All tours end within easy walking distance the Charleston Visitors Center.
Can I shop on the tour?
Yes, each distillery has alcohol (in limited quantities in accordance with South Carolina law) and other merchandise available for purchase.
Are tours offered only in English?
Policies and Procedures
Charleston Distillery Tour is locally owned and operated. It is important for us to be aware of group number changes or group cancellations as soon as possible to allow other potential guests the opportunity to experience our wonderful micro-distillery community in the case that you are not able to do so. The Charleston Distillery Tour relies on an on-time departure in order to operate smoothly and maintain a good rapport with the distilleries we visit. We also want to ensure that our guests who arrived on time are not left waiting. We specialize in small personalized distillery educational experiences and in order to ensure that every guest has a wonderful experience, we have put the following policies and procedures in place.
24 Hour Cancellation Policy
If your group has less than 6 guests and you are unable to attend the tour you have scheduled, please call us no later than 24 hours before the date and time of your scheduled tour departure and a full refund will be issued. Within 24 hours of your tour, we will be unable to issue a refund.
48 Hour Cancellation Policy
If you have a group of 6 guests or more and are unable to attend the tour you have scheduled, please call us no later than 48 hours before the date and time of your scheduled tour departure and a full refund will be issued. For groups of 6 or more, within 48 hours of your tour, we will be unable to issue a refund.
If Charleston Distillery Tour guests arrive at the tour meeting place intoxicated, it is at the guide’s discretion whether or not to allow them on board. If you are turned away due to intoxication, you will still be charged in full for the tour. Underage and nondrinker tickets are available for $25 per person. Please try to arrive for your cruise approximately 10-15 minutes early. In deference to other guests, we are unable to delay the start of tours to accommodate late arriving guests.
